Today is your day, but I also have a reason to celebrate. Today is the day my bestie, my biggest strength, my shoulder to cry on, and my missing piece of the puzzle was brought into this world. Today is your birthday.
Even though I don’t need a special occasion like this to realize that I couldn’t imagine my life without you in it, this is the day that I simply have to tell you how much you mean to me.
And that is exactly why I am writing this to you to wish you all the best and remind you that I love you, even though I don’t say it as often as I should.
Today is the day I think about all of our memories, all the milestones and obstacles we defeated together, and all the happy and sad moments we have gone through side by side
It takes a special person to see all of your vulnerabilities and never to use them against you.
To know all of your deepest and darkest secrets and never to judge you for them.
It takes a certain kind of someone to share your misfortunes and honestly sympathize with your sadness.
A special someone to feel your pain, without ever asking for anything in return.
And you are my special someone. Despite all the boyfriends who have been part of our lives, you were, are, and always will be my person.
Because you have been the only one who’s always stood by me through thick and thin, through good and bad days.
The only one who’s been giving me her endless support from the outset and the only one who never abandoned me.
You’re never too busy to listen to my problems and you’ve never told me that my concerns are foolish or irrelevant, even when they are.
You’re always there to wipe my tears away and put a smile back on my face.
I’ve had other friends in life, but you are the only one who stuck around, no matter what. The one who always had my back and who never disappointed me or betrayed me.
Calling you my best friend would be an understatement because, to me, you are so much more.
You may not have been born as my sister, but that doesn’t mean you are not my family.
